There’s a kind of freedom found at the end of a long dirt road. Dust on the Dashboard captures a cowgirl resting on the tailgate of a weathered old Chevy as the sun slips toward the horizon, her hat pulled low and the prairie stretching endlessly behind her.
Worn boots, windblown hair and a truck that has clearly seen its share of miles tell a story of long days, hard work and a life lived close to the land. Warm sepia tones and the faded green of the pickup give the piece a nostalgic quality—as though it belongs to another time, yet somehow still feels familiar.
Dust on the Dashboard is about those quiet moments between the work and the next ride, when there’s nothing left to do but sit awhile and watch the Western sky.
